Heidi's House Rescue Johnno and Jane came to the rescue of Heidi, who has had a very rough time lately. Heidi not only lost her son recently, she has a 7 year old daughter Yazmin, who spent most of her early years suffering from a form of cancer. This forced the family to sell their home to pay for the many flights to Sydney to save their daughter. We decided to help Heidi out with some general Spring cleaning, plus some house and garden maintenance.

thanks to Milano's Pizza for helping out with Pizza's for the family.
For the past seven years Jenny and Vince Piemontese have lovingly opened their home to foster children providing crisis accommodation for children of all ages. Over the seven years they have been fostering, they have taken in 26 very needy children some of which stay for a matter of weeks, some stay for years. Jenny’s commitment towards these children saw her awarded the ‘Barnados Mother of the year’ in 2010 and she was also awarded ‘The National 2009 Pride of Australia Medal’ for Care and Compassion, for not only her work with the foster children but also for all the extra community work that she undertakes. With so much time dedicated to the care of the children, Jenny and Vince have had very little time to spend in their garden and as a result it needs some love and attention. This is where we come in! Together with Clennett’s Mitre 10 we will be completing a massive backyard makeover creating a fantastic new backyard for these special kids. The backyard will be totally transformed to create a new beautiful environment for these special kids to call home.

7HOFM’s Breakfast with the stars Johnno and Jane, together with our friends at Coles and Harmony Garden Centre and Florist, came to the rescue of one of our listeners Michelle who is having a tough time as a result of some health related issues. Harmony Garden Centre and Florist dropped off 2 ½ tonne of wood which will help heat her home for the rest of winter and also delivered a beautiful big bunch of flowers to the very shocked Michelle. Coles helped out Michelle with $400 worth of Coles vouchers to help with the cost of her groceries. Another successful 7HOFM to the Rescue, thanks to Coles, Harmony Garden Center and Florist and 101.7 7HOFM 100% Hobart
Jactina and Phillip, Oyster Cove, had a baby 10 weeks premature. Vicki, a friend of the family registered their details for 7HOFM to the rescue. It has been a very stressful time for the family, and while he is now doing okay, the house work has been totally overlooked with the demands of hospital visits and caring for their other daughter. Vicki hasn't had the time to assist with household duties as she has been helping with other things that need doing. Our thanks to: KoKo Hair Design: $100 voucher for cut, colour and style Coles Kingston: $400 vouchers for baby supplies The Cleaning Lady Agency: 4 hours of house cleaning The Oyster Cove Inn: $100 Dinner voucher Bennetts Petroleum: $100 fuel voucher

Thanks to the generous support of Hobart businesses, 7HOFM was able to come to the Rescue of Margaret and her family Bec, Josh and Erica.
A family friend, Rachel, informed us that Margaret had been unfortunately diagnosed with terminal cancer and it was suggested that we create a lasting memory for the family. With the help of Hobart businesses we were able to capture a beautiful family portrait as well as provide the family with some extra goodies to help them through this hard time.
