Police are appealing for witnesses after a property in southern Tasmania was trashed - in what appears to be a revenge attack.

An investigation has been launched, after a Provence Drive residence at Carlton was extensively damaged on Sunday morning with several cars and outdoor furniture vandalised. There are reports it was in retaliation to an attack on a man who lives on the same street on Friday. He was hospitalised with a broken leg.
